Smallholder farmers in the northern regions are embracing drone technology for the first time through an innovative agricultural extension program launched by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in partnership with a leading agritech startup.
The program, which has already trained over 500 farmers, teaches participants to operate lightweight drones equipped with multispectral cameras that can detect crop stress, pest infestations, and irrigation needs days before they become visible to the naked eye.
