In an unexpected move that has surprised political observers across the nation, the Leader of the Opposition has formally proposed a National Unity Dialogue aimed at de-escalating political tensions ahead of the upcoming general elections.
Speaking to a packed press conference at the National Press Center, the opposition leader emphasized the need for peaceful discourse and mutual respect between competing parties. "Our democracy is stronger when we disagree with dignity," he stated.
The proposed dialogue would bring together representatives from all major political parties, civil society organizations, religious leaders, and traditional authorities to discuss electoral integrity, campaign conduct, and post-election reconciliation.
